Famous domain investor Rick Schwartz, who has humbly styled himself the “Domain King,” has once again proven that his “title” is more than mere bravado but is backed by serious results. He recently announced the successful sale of the domain name AiReviews.com for $1,340,250. Notably, he acquired that domain in 2021 for just $480, reaping a staggering 2,792x multiple on his initial investment – a truly impressive gain.
This transaction will not appear in this year’s rankings, as it was structured as a lease-to-own agreement. According to TLD Investors, an as-yet-unnamed buyer will pay $228,000 for a five-year lease, with a final balloon payment of $1,112,250 due at the term’s end.
“Most domainers would’ve flipped it for a quick thousand. I don’t play that game,” Rick Schwartz commented on X (formerly Twitter). He added, “If you’re happy flipping mobile homes, have at it. But if you want real wealth, you slow down and think!”
Ironically, Schwartz’s announcement triggered a veritable chain reaction. On the day of his post, the “AiReviews” name and its variations were registered across dozens of domain extensions, including aireviews.tv, aireviews.dev, aireviews.click, aireviewsinc.com, and aireviews.life. The registrants are likely hoping to at least partially replicate the Domain King’s success. Schwartz himself would probably dismiss such moves as nothing more than “flipping mobile homes.”
