Icy.com sold for at least $1 million

A major transaction has taken place in the domain market: the domain Icy.com has been sold. The buyer is Icy Studios, a company specializing in apparel printing and partnering with numerous leading fashion brands. Founder Manik Kundra revealed that he invested every dollar of his personal savings – accumulated since the company was established – into securing the domain. He added that the purchase represents more than just a new web address (the company previously operated under IcyStudios.com); for him, it symbolizes the successful seven-year journey the company has taken since its creation.

Kundra did not reveal the exact price paid for Icy.com, stating only that it was a seven-figure sum – at least $1 million. This aligns with market realities: high-value three-letter .COM domains (and “icy” being a dictionary word) are known to command significant prices. According to Domain Investing, the domain was previously owned by Brandforce and had been listed for $2 million. Brandforce co-founder and vice president Louis Pickthall confirmed that the sale took place but declined to disclose the final price, citing confidentiality agreements.
