Weekly trends from NameBio

NameBio, a major database on domain sales, has summed up the results of the past month for the domain market. The AI acronym was once again the most popular search term used by investors searching for domain names on leading marketplaces. Domains containing this acronym in their names also led in terms of the number of transactions for a total of 44 transactions worth $449,264 (the data include only transactions over $1,000).

Among gTLDs, the .COM domain had the highest number of transactions, which was quite predictable, with 12,459 transactions involving this domain extension for a total worth of $11,591,724, and an average transaction at $930.39 (from here on, the statistics include transactions over $100). Anguilla’s .AI ccTLD ranked second in terms of total transaction volume. It saw 528 transactions for a total of $2,030,603. This means the average transaction amount was higher than for .COM at $3,845.84.

However, Tuvalu’s ccTLD .TV took the lead in this regard. There were 17 transactions in this domain over the past week, but for a total of $221,066. Consequently, the average transaction amount reached an impressive figure of $13,003.88.

Among marketplaces, GoDaddy led in both the number of transactions and their total value, with 10,076 transactions for a total of $7,672,885. Namecheap ranked second in terms of number of transactions, with 2,528, and Sedo in terms of total transaction amount, with $3,015,932.
