Wisdom.ai sold for $750,000

DN Journal reports that the largest-ever deal in the history of Anguilla’s ccTLD, .AI. The domain name Wisdom.ai was sold for $750,000, surpassing the previous record set by You.ai, which changed hands in 2023 for $700,000. The sale of Wisdom.ai is currently the largest publicly disclosed domain transaction in any national domain zone since the beginning of the year (this only includes transactions with publicly available information).

The seller was prominent domain investor and entrepreneur Ammar Kubba, while the buyer is an unnamed innovative company founded by specialists in artificial intelligence and data analytics. The transaction was brokered by Brian Harbin, CEO and founder of Grit Brokerage.

Ammar Kubba originally acquired Wisdom.ai at auction in 2018, long before the AI boom transformed Anguilla’s country-code domain into one of the most sought-after digital assets among domain investors. In an interview with DN Journal publisher Ron Jackson, Kubba explained that Wisdom.ai was his first .AI domain, and he initially doubted that it would prove profitable. Over the first five years, he received just a handful of offers and was even considering using the domain for one of his own projects.

The situation changed drastically in 2023, when global interest in AI surged. Kubba began steadily increasing the asking price for Wisdom.ai: from $250,000, to $500,000, then $750,000, and finally $990,000. After extended negotiations, broker Brian Harbin succeeded in securing terms acceptable to both sides. “I’m pretty sure I left some money on the table, and I’m pretty sure the buyer paid more than they wanted to, but that's a win-win in my book. You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well, you just might find, you get what you need!” Ammar Kubba said.
