Registrants of domain names in adult extensions should renew their domains in advance, as prices will go up by $10 – from $85 to $95 – starting November 1. The rise will apply to the .XXX, .SEX, .PORN, and .ADULT TLDs and will concern all transactions, including domain name registrations, renewals, and transfers between registrars.
According to Domain Name Wire, which reported the news, these domain extensions were previously managed by MMX, before being acquired by GoDaddy in 2021. This portfolio comprises 19 domains, including not only adult-oriented zones but also, for example, .ABOGADO, .CASA, and .LUXE. Prices in these three domain zones will also increase on November 1, with .ABOGADO domain names to rise from $20 to $25, .CASA from $6 to $10, and .LUXE from $12 to $15.
Overall, it would be incorrect to assume that GoDaddy has some special policy towards adult domain zones. The company has previously announced price increases for 27 other gTLDs under its management, which will take effect on April 1, 2026. These include a wide range of domain zones – from .GAY to .HORSE and .DESIGN – with prices set to rise by between $1 and $5 per registration, representing an increase of 4-25 percent.
All of these are wholesale prices, meaning registrars will add their own fees, and the final cost to registrants will be higher. However, users still have until November 1 to renew their domain name registrations at the current rates. Registrations can be renewed for up to 10 years, allowing significant savings for large domain investors.
