Escrow.com, a secure escrow service facilitating high-value transactions – including domain name deals – has published its latest quarterly Domain Investment Index report. According to Domain Gang, the total volume of domain transactions processed through the platform from April to June this year reached $89.85 million. While this figure is lower than Q1’s $107 million, the cumulative transaction volume for the first half of 2025 stands at $196.85 million, reflecting a 9.3 percent year-over-year increase.
Buyers from the United States drove the most activity, with their total transaction volume rising from $70.8 million in Q1 2025 to $71.9 million in Q2. Conversely, the Asia-Pacific region saw a significant downturn. Chinese investors reduced their domain name investments from $7.1 million to $6.4 million, while Hong Kong experienced a dramatic collapse – from $4.5 million in Q1 to just $761,000 in Q2.
Among the most sought-after domain extensions, Anguilla’s country code top-level domain.AI continues its remarkable ascent. Earlier this year, in Q1, it set a new record with $3.48 million worth of transactions processed through Escrow.com. However, that milestone was quickly surpassed in Q2, as the domain zone surged by 29.02 percent, with deals surpassing $4 million and reaching $4.49 million.
