Cloud.ai sold for 600,000 dollars

On Wednesday, well-known domain investor James Booth announced on the X platform (formerly Twitter) about the successful sale of Cloud.ai, acquired by an anonymous buyer through GoDaddy’s Domain Broker Service (DBS). The seller was also represented by a GoDaddy broker, Tim Perkins. Although the domain sold for as much as $600,000, the screenshot shared by James Booth indicated that he would receive a payout of $500,000. Another $100,000 is obviously the DBS commission fee the brokerage service charged on the buyer.

Once the DN Journal’s ranking of the largest domain deals updates, the Cloud.ai deal will become the largest ccTLD domain sale since the beginning of the year. According to Domain Investing, this is the largest domain name sale in the Anguilla ccTLD this year and the second largest .AI sale of all time – assuming we are talking about publicly reported deals.

To date, the largest .AI deal is the October 2023 sale of You.ai for $700,000. However, according to Domain Investing, the popularity of .AI names is so high today that that this record is quite unlikely to hold up till the end of the year.
