Snoop Dogg strictly monitors violation of his rights in the domain space

Calvin Broadus, better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg, is among those celebrities who strictly monitors violation of his rights in the domain space. Last year, he won two domain disputes, as well as two more this April. A week and a half ago, Gregor Vos, IP litigator at the World Intellectual Property Organization, upheld the rapper’s complaint filed under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).

The complaint dealt with five TLDs, including nz-snoopdogg.buzz, snoopdoggdollars-au.one, snoopdoggdollars.cloud, snoopdoggdollars.club and snoopdoggold.com. Some of them directed users to gambling websites, and others used the rapper’s image. The outcome of the legal battle was absolutely predictable, with Snoop Dogg now managing these five domains.

According to Domain Name Wire, the rapper won another domain dispute at WIPO about a month ago. The dispute concerned SnoopDoggBush.com. Bush is the title of the rapper’s 13th album, released in 2015. No questions emerged in this case either. However, one question would be appropriate here. The domain’s Ukrainian registrant used it to promote an app for tracking pets online by their owners. However, it remains unclear how a domain alluding to Snoop Dogg could help make this app more popular.
