The Government of Anguilla reported that the country’s domain name migrated to the Identity Digital platform (former Donuts). The agreement granting Identity Digital technical operator authorities was signed in October 2024. Previously operated by a small local company, .AI experienced a surge in popularity and has over 600,000 domains registered to date, which requires upscaled capacity.
The Identity Digital fully caters to the current needs. In particular, Identity Digital provides 24/7 global technical support to .AI registrants, according to Online Domain. Thanks to Identity Digital’s vast network of business contacts, over 90% domain registrars around the world sell .AI domains.
In its press release, the Government of Anguilla stressed that the transfer to Identity Digital was smooth and caused not delays in .AI domains’ operation. Prime Minister of Anguilla Ellis Webster also said he is certain that cooperation with Identity Digital will serve further development and strengthening of the country’s digital infrastructure, the economic growth and diversification.
