The Online Domain reports that the EURid has published its next Annual Domain Name Report. It sums up the results of 2023 in the unified national domain of the European Union countries .EU and its internationalized versions .ею and .ευ. The year can hardly be considered successful, since the main indicator - the number of registrations - showed a decrease. As of December 31, 2023, 3,684,820 names were registered in the above-mentioned domain zones. This is 17,444 registrations or 0.47% less than the year before. The decrease, of course, is very insignificant, but the fact remains a fact.
In this context, the countries that showed the greatest growth in the number of registrations in the unified European domain deserve good words. Their list is headed by Cyprus, which added 8,980 registrations, which corresponds to a growth of 47.6%. It is followed by Croatia - plus 1,541 registrations or 11.7% and Portugal - plus 15,184 registrations or 8.6%. Romania also showed the same percentage growth, adding 2,593 registrations.
If we talk about the countries leading in the number of registrations in the .eu, .ею and .ευ domain zones, the top three have not changed. In first place is Germany with 985,934 registered names. Next come the Netherlands - 456,298 registrations and France - 306,477 registrations. It should also be added that the level of renewal of registrations in the unified national domain of the countries of the European Union remains exceptionally high - last year it was 82%.
