Google Raises Prices for Names in Its Six Domain Zones

Google, or rather, its Google Registry, has announced an upcoming price increase. The company currently operates six new gTLDs: .PAGE, .DAY, .BOO, .RSVP .DEV and .APP. From August 1 of this year, prices in all these domain zones will increase by $2. In .PAGE, .DAY, .BOO, .RSVP the registration price will increase from $8 to $10, in .DEV from $10 to $12, and in .APP from $12 to $14.

We are talking about wholesale prices that the registry charges to registrar companies. But it is obvious that registrars will not be slow to pass this increase on to the registrants. And if for owners of 1-2 domain names in these zones the difference will not be too noticeable, then for owners of large portfolios, it probably makes sense to renew their domain registrations now - while the previous prices are still in force. It should also be added that the increase will not affect prices for premium domain names, Domain Name Wire reports.
