Sedo — domain trading platform — published a report on the results of the past week. Traditionally, it only includes transactions worth $2,000 or more, the parties of which are not bound NDAs. This time the number of such transactions was 68: 39 in the gTLD .COM, 22 in ccTLDs and 7 in other domain zones.
The leader of the week was the sale of LVK.com for $65,000. Three-letter names in .COM are classified as “bang on”, and therefore the amount can be considered relatively small for such a name. However, The Domains, reporting this news, notes that the sequential combination of V and K is considered not very advantageous, since it occurs infrequently (Acronim Finder, for example, offers only 6 options for deciphering the abbreviation LVK). One of the likely buyers is the Las Vegas Kings football club, which plays in the Indoor Football League (the so-called arena football). This is a little-known sport in Russia; the game is played according to the rules of American football, but on grounds whose size is closer to hockey. Arena football is quite common in the United States, but it is very far from the popularity of regular or American football. However, there is no exact information about the buyer of LVK.com in any case yet.
The second place in the week's rating is occupied by the sale of Pay.day. This name can be considered a wonderful example of what is called domain hacks in the slang of domain business professionals - domains, the parts of which to the left and right of the dot form a meaningful word. The domain was sold for 21 thousand euros ($22,475 at the exchange rate at the time of the transaction). Naturally, the sale became a leader in the “other” category.
Third place went to another representative of the .COM: the name ilovehealth.com changed hands for $22,010. If we talk about national domain zones, the largest transaction here was the sale of the name zertifiziert.de in the national domain of Germany for 18,500 euros.
