The Escrow.com, which is also used for secure deposit of transactions with domain names, summed up the results of the year, highlighting the main market trends. During the year, more than 8,500 transactions were concluded through the service for a total amount of over $300 million. There were some very large ones among them, but the service does not have the right to disclose details without the permission of the parties to the transactions. The average transaction amount was $35,455.
According to the Domain Gang, throughout the year deals were concluded with domain names from 226 different domain zones. This is 6% less than a year earlier. The most popular, as usual, was the generic top-level domain .COM. At the same time, the largest growth was demonstrated by the .AI, the number of transactions with names in which increased by 210%. This allowed Anguilla's ccTLD to become the second most popular domain name after .COM. The third place is occupied by the .IO (national domain of the British Indian Ocean Territories), the number of transactions with names in which, however, decreased by 16% compared to 2022.
Among other interesting facts, it is worth noting that the longest domain name that was transacted through the Escrow.com service had 32 letters. And the “longest” domain zones turned out to be several ten-letter ones: .associates, .foundation, .properties and .technology.
