GlassesShop.com Returned to Its Rightful Owner

The US National Arbitration Forum has ruled on a complaint filed against the GlassesShop.com under the Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy UDRP, thereby putting an end to an almost detective story. According to the Domain Gang, the domain registrant was Four E LLC. It purchased the domain name in 2008 for $2,488 and used it for its website. In the same 2008, the company registered the GLASSESSHOP trademark with the US Patent Office.

Some time ago, the company had a conflict with a hired site and domain administrator. In the documents of the Arbitration Forum, he appears as a defendant as bin qin from the People's Republic of China. The company expressed its intention to terminate the cooperation, and then it turned out that several years ago the administrator, without notifying anyone about this, re-registered the domain in his name.

Then the administrator acted very badly. First, he demanded $150,000 from the company, and then another $410,000 to return the domain name. Otherwise, he threatened to block the site and thereby disrupt the company’s activities. Lawyers for Four E LLC responded to the Delaware State Court and the National Arbitration Forum. How the court classifies the actions of the defendant, time will tell, but Arbitration Forum Panelist Nicholas J.T. Smith did not need much time: he decided to satisfy the complaint and transfer the domain name GlassesShop.com to the management of Four E LLC.
