The national domain of the United Arab Emirates has reached the mark of 300,000 registrations

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the state regulator of the telecommunications sector of the United Arab Emirates, shared the results of the ccTLD .AE last year. The year turned out to be very successful for the domain zone: it added 46,000 registrations, demonstrating a growth rate of 20%. And already in the first quarter of this year, the number of registered names in .AE reached 300,000.

Resource Domain Incite, reporting this news, notes that this is a very good indicator for a country in which about 9.2 million people live. For comparison: the number of registrations in the national domain of Israel (population - about 9.3 million people) .IL is about 284,000, and in the national domain of Belarus (population - about 9.2 million people) .BY - about 160,000. However, there are examples of a different nature: in the national domains of Hungary .HU and Austria .AT (the population of both countries is also comparable to the population of the UAE), about 860,000 and more than 1.5 million domain names are registered, respectively. It should also be understood that a significant proportion of the people living in the United Arab Emigrants are non-citizen workers. On the other hand, the latter circumstance cannot be considered an obstacle: registration in the .AE is open.
