It is worth recalling that this category includes domain names of 2-4 characters (letters or numbers), as well as names of 5 digits in the .COM zone. The results of the last quarter of last year were disastrously low, and this led many experts to doubt that such domains still deserve the name of highly liquid. However, in the Q1 of this year, the market completely won back the previous fall.
Moreover, the quarter became an absolute record for the entire period of publication of reports. According to The Domains, the amount of transactions, information about which appeared in the public domain, amounted to $6,978,481, more than double the figure of the previous quarter. The situation is even better with transactions conducted through the Escrow.com service: their total volume reached $43,169,673 - against $11.4 million in Q4 2022. Thus, the total amount of transactions exceeded $50 million.
The best results were shown by domain names of 4 letters - the total amount of transactions with them amounted to 23.8 million dollars. Two-letter domain names also have an excellent figure - $ 15.7 million. All this allows us to say that the decline at the end of last year was rather a temporary phenomenon, and it is definitely not worth writing off highly liquid domains.
