Saudiarabiya.com listed for sale for $94 million

A press release announcing the sale of the Saudiarabiya.com is being circulated online. It says that the domain is of exceptional value because it matches the official name of Saudi Arabia. This statement is, mildly speaking, slyness. The word "Arabia" in European languages has the transliteration Arabia or Arabya, but in no case – Arabiya.

While the press release uses the name of the Al-Arabiya TV channel to support its claims, there is no justification for considering Saudi Arabiya to be the official name of the country. Therefore, there is no reason for paying a lot of money for a domain. The seller expects to fetch $94 million for it. Domain Incite, reporting the news, calls this amount "laughable", and it's hard to disagree with it. However, the seller is willing to generously make concessions and lease the domain name for the first year for "only" $4 million, with the remainder being paid.
