Leonardodicaprio.org Returned To Its Owner

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) arbitration has ruled on a complaint filed under the UDRP Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy against the leonardodicaprio.org domain. It was submitted, as you might guess, by Leonardo DiCaprio himself. The famous actor owned this domain name until recently, but last summer, for unknown reasons, the domain registration was not renewed in a timely manner. As a result, the domain name was put up for auction on the NameJet website.

From the very beginning, observers warned unlucky investors against participating in the auction. They pointed out that only one person can confirm the legality of owning such a domain and its use in the event of any claims - Leonardo DiCaprio himself. But the temptation to acquire the domain of one of the brightest Hollywood stars was apparently too great. Bidding went very well, and the winner, an unnamed investor from Indonesia, ended up buying the domain for $19,500. He might as well just throw the money away. In less than six months, a complaint was filed against the domain. And it was not difficult for arbitrator Stephen Levy to make a verdict: the leonardodicaprio.org should be transferred to the management of Leonardo DiCaprio, according to the Domain Gang.
