For example, the most popular Twitch service runs on the Twitch.tv domain, and the US Major League Baseball uses the MLB.tv domain to broadcast its matches.
Previously, the registry for the .TV was Verisign. It was in this domain zone that she first introduced the idea that has become popular today in many gTLDs - highlighting the most attractive names in the premium category with an increase in the price for their registration and subsequent renewal. However, when Verisign's contract with the government of Tuvalu came to an end, Verisign did not bid for unknown reasons. As a result, the GoDaddy registry became its winner.
So far, the company does not intend to change the pricing policy existing in the domain zone, according to the Domain Name Wire.
