Medal.com Sells by DropCatch for Nearly $200,000 at Auction

The auction for the Medal.com domain name was closed by DropCatch. The domain is undoubtedly in the premium class; some analysts even refer to it as "ultra premium." And it is unclear how the registration of such a desirable name could have remained inactive. However, a complicated series of occurrences came before this. In 1995, the domain name was first registered. And in 2015, Medal.Inc., a business that specializes in the storage, processing, and security of data from medical institutions, bought the domain.

The company joined the larger Ciox Health in 2020. The initial cost was not publicly disclosed, so when Ciox Health was acquired by Datavant a year later, it was revealed to be $ 7 billion. As a result, the Medal brand and its extremely expensive domain name appear to have been simply forgotten. DropCatch proved to be the fastest of the competition when the domain registration expired, re-registering the name and offering it for auction. The individual going by the moniker noklag won the auction, which lasted many days, according to Domain Investing. He made an offer of $185,728 for the domain. Experts think that this is a fairly small price for a domain name with such huge potential.
