TEDA International Auto Group acquires EV.com

TEDA International Auto Group, an international company with offices in Canada, China and the US, has acquired EV.com. A website has already been launched with the domain, however, it’s still under development. TEDA specializes in trading, leasing and renting luxury vehicles. Most likely, the EV.com domain will be used in relation to electric vehicles, hence the abbreviation. However, the company has already shared its plans to conquer the "metaverse": it intends to offer car manufacturers and dealers a way to create virtual car dealerships. However, it is not yet clear how the domain will be used in this case.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. However, Domain Name Wire notes that it was most recently listed for $8.5 million. It is hard to say whether TEDA International Auto Group paid this much, but considering the cost of two-letter .COM domains and the explosive popularity of electric vehicles (EV), we can be sure that the amount of the transaction was seven figures – that is, at least $1 million.
