The term “liquid domains” in the domain business designates names in .COM, consisting of 2 to 5 letters or numbers in various combinations. There is a total of 614,928 such domains, and their market performance is monitored quarterly by the Liquid Domains Overview. Its latest edition, summing up the results of the first three months of this year, has just come out, according to The Domains. And these results do not look very positive.
Highly liquid domains showed a significant decline across the board. Thus, in Q4 2021, the volume of liquid domain sales registered through Escrow.com amounted to $34 million. In Q1 2022, it fell by more than half to $16 million. The median prices also decreased noticeably: ‒59% for 3Ls, ‒19% for 4Ls and ‒14% for 4Ns. However, 2Ls went up 5.67% and 4Cs grew 13.39%.
