GoDaddy now making over $1 billion a quarter

GoDaddy, the world's largest domain registrar and, more recently, the registry for many new gTLDs, has summed up the results of the 4th quarter of last year and the year as a whole. These results have been very positive. In the last three months of 2021 alone, the company's revenue amounted to $1.02 billion. Domain Incite notes that not that long ago - in 2013 - GoDaddy became the first registrar company in the world that earned more than 1 billion a year. Now, this figure is reached just for 3 months.

Growth in revenue directly from the domain business (the company also runs web hosting and provides a number of other services) was impressive - 23.6% compared to last year. The largest income was brought by the sale of domains in the aftermarket, as well as the registry’s activity. However, the company associates such a high result with the consequences of the pandemic and cautiously predicts that this year the growth will not be so impressive, because humanity will still be able to bring the coronavirus under control, and the need for domain names will decrease somewhat.
