Donuts, which manages the largest portfolio of new generic top-level domains, has released the latest edition of its monthly Domain Trend Report. It offers October domain statistics and provides useful information for domain industry investors and professionals. The top three domains managed by Donuts (by the number of premium domain registrations) have not changed and include the new gTLDs .LIVE, .LIFE and .DIGITAL.
However, the statistics by geographic region reflect a few changes. .WORLD rose to third place in North America; in South America, .DIGITAL came out on top, pushing .LIVE into second place. The top .LIVE premium domains sold, by their retail sale price, were market.live, aaa.live and cx.live. (The report does not actually disclose the amounts paid.) In other domain zones, premium registrations included 123.news, just.news, infinity.games, auto.show and car.show.
Unsurprisingly, “meta” topped the list of keywords most often used in the names of newly registered domains Donuts-managed gTLDs in October. Given Facebook’s rebranding announced last month and the company’s decision to change its name to Meta, nothing less could have been expected, Online Domain wrote reporting the news.
