Domain Gang reports a large new domain deal: Aphrodite.com has changed hands. Little is known about its previous sales. In fact, the Namebio database has information about only one deal: in 2013, it was sold at Sedo domain marketplace for $11,700. However, its potential value is clearly much higher. The beauty industry, dating services, and erotic websites spring to mind as potential parties that would be ready to offer big money for such a domain.
This is confirmed by the fact that in June Aphrodite.com was put up for sale for $2 million. Nobody wanted to buy it at such a price, and it looks like it had to be lowered. According to SAW.com broker Brooke Hernandez, who mediated the deal, the domain was sold for a six-figure sum, which means hundreds of thousands of dollars. Hernandez did not disclose who the buyer was either, noting only that she “can't wait to see how the domain will be used.”
