Domain Investing has reported quite exciting news: FrankSchilling.com is up for sale. Frank Schilling, one of the most well-known and successful domain investors in the world, was its registrant for a long time. However, it looks like Schilling has decided either to retire or to substantially curtail his business activities. Earlier this year, he sold his company Uniregistry and his own portfolio of domain names worth millions of dollars, to leading domain name registrar GoDaddy.
Whether FrankSchilling.com was part of that portfolio has not been disclosed: in the Whois records, the registrant’s details are concealed through privacy settings and the only information available says that it is registered in the Cayman Islands. What we know is that Schilling previously used the domain for redirecting users to his Seven Mile blog. The domain remains parked, with a recent note indicating that it is for sale.
The prospects of selling the domain are hard to predict. In theory, anyone with a suiting offer can buy the domain. However, to avoid subsequent troubles the buyer should meet one criterion, which is to be Frank Schilling, i.e. to have the same first and last name.
