ICANN Childcare Program launched

The ICANN official website has announced the launch of a pilot program to reimburse corporate event participants who are unable to leave their children at home. ICANN managers approved this program in June. Many participants in annual ICANN meetings have complained that they are unable to leave their children at home and that they have to bring them along. It was even suggested that the corporation set up daycare centers at specific conference venues where children could be supervised by professionals.

ICANN has solved the problem in another way. It will pay up to $750 to conference participants for babysitters or daycare center services during the events. Attendees can apply for this allowance on the ICANN website. Applications will be accepted through November 20, and all participants in the upcoming 67th ICANN meeting are eligible. The meeting is scheduled for March 2020 in Cancun, Mexico.
