RX.com domain receives new owner for $1 million

RX.com was sold via Sedo for $1 million, according to Domain Investing, making the transaction the third largest public domain name sale of the year to date. The domain went to Texas entrepreneur and domain investor Brent Oxley.

Oxley is now actively investing in potentially profitable domain names, analysts say. His recent purchases include Texas.com, Bachelor.com, Rookie.com and Dust.com, but the $1 million RX.com purchase remains his most expensive buy to date.

Two-letter names in the .COM top-level domain are considered elite. The existence of similar abbreviations can make them even more valuable. Regarding Rx, there are many similar acronyms. This letter combination is most often used to denote prescription medications in the United States. So a medical or pharmaceutical website using this domain seems logical. However, analysts doubt that Brent Oxley is interested in this. Most likely, he bought the domain name for a subsequent high-profit resale.
