All new Radix portfolio TLDs approved for use in China

Radix company representatives stated that their new .HOST, .PRESS, .SPACE and .WEBSITE gTLDs had recently been approved by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for use by Chinese organizations and citizens. Now that the four latest Radix TLDs are available in China, the Chinese market offers a whole portfolio of this company’s new domains.

Over 700,000 domain names out of Radix’s three-million-domain portfolio are registered in China, the company’s press release states. Radix also reports that in 2018, the number of new domain adds in China increased by over 30 percent.

In this regard, Radix CEO Sandeep Ramchandani reported that the company has partnered up with the local registrar Xinnet to offer free domain names to university students to “host their academic projects and business prototypes.”

According to China’s laws, Chinese citizens and organizations can register domain names in any domain zone. However, websites can only be created within domains licensed for use in China. Licensing implies, among other things, that the registry agrees to follow the strict rules of the existing Chinese internet regulation laws. Radix obtained its previous licenses in 2017.
