Verisign, the company managing the .com top-level domain, has recently published a report for the third quarter of 2018, which proved the .com TLD to be the solid leader among all top-level domains. Slowly and steadily, the financial results of both the company and its domain continue to increase, the Online Domain website reported upon examining the new report.
Between July and September, the number of domain names registered in the .com and .net domains (both managed by Verisign) grew by 1.99 million. Compared with the results of the report from the third quarter of 2017, this number grew by 4 percent. As of early October 2018, the total number of domain names registered in the .com and .net TLDs stood at about 151.7 million. The report also provides the updated .com and .net registration renewal rate for the second quarter of 2018; the rate was 75 percent, up from 74 percent a year earlier.
