ICANN has officially announced the dates and locations of its 2020 meetings. According to Online Domain, the first one will take place on March 7–12 in Cancun, Mexico, followed by a meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on June 22–25 and in Hamburg, Germany, on October 23–28. The domain community reacted to the news quite skeptically. It is known that ICANN has a serious budget deficit. Many critics note that, with this in mind, it would be sensible to hold just one meeting per year, but the company continues to organize the usual three. It is noteworthy that this year ICANN is spending $17.2 million on travel and meetings.
