A lot of good news has been coming out of Uzbekistan in recent months. On April 30, Uzbekistan’s ccTLD .UZ marked its 23rd anniversary. On June 12, UZINFOCOM, a unified integrator for development and support of state information systems and administrator of Uzbekistan’s ccTLD, announced in its blog that the number of registered names in the domain zone reached 60,000.
The .UZ domain was delegated by IANA on April 29, 1995. On July 29, 2002 a Uzbekistani President’s executive order started the UZINFOCOM Computerization and IT Technology Center, which remains the administrator of the national domain .UZ. CCTLD congratulates its Uzbekistani colleagues on the results achieved and wishes them further success in their work.
