ICANN decided to continue financing its educational online project, ICANNWiki. As of today, ICANNWiki has about 6,000 articles on ICANN members and activities. As reported before, ICANN wanted to completely drop the project to cut its expenses. However, this proposal, published on the ICANN website for discussion, received negative feedback, which must have influenced the organization’s position.
Nevertheless, ICANN still wants to drop the project, but in several stages. According to Domain Incite, next fiscal year (which begins on July 1), the project will get $66,000 instead $100,000, a sum that will be reduced to $33,000 in ICANN’s fiscal 2020. After that, the funding will disappear completely.
