Sharia-compliant bank not paying ICANN fees

ICANN continues to send breach notices to the companies that are not paying their fees. It was reported that such notices were sent to dotCOOL (.QPON) and Asiamix Digital (.FAN и .FANS), followed by Kuwait Finance House (KFH). According to Domain Incite, the bank has not paid its quarterly fees of $6,250 per domain for at least six months, since last November.

KFH runs .kfh and the Arabic internationalized domain name equivalent .بيتك. Neither appears to have any live sites. At the same time, dotCOOL and Asiamix Digital’s failure to pay the fees may be due to financial problems: both companies are relatively small and the domains they run show quite low rates. The KFH situation looks much stranger. The bank was founded in 1977 as the first Sharia-compliant bank in the world. According to Wikipedia, in 2016, it managed assets of $55.52 billion, and its annual revenue exceeded $700 million. It is hard to say what prevents KFH from paying its quarterly fees of $6,250.
