The launch dates for the new .APP domain have been announced

Domain Incite announced the launch timeline for the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) .APP. Many consider this gTLD to be one of the most promising at the current stage of the New gTLD Program. The domain belongs to Google, which won it in an ICANN auction. Google paid $25 million and for a long time is remained a record-breaking price for such auctions.

The auction took place back in February 2015 and in July same year it was delegated. Therefore, the launch of .APP has obviously been delayed, which caused a lot of speculations. They are over now: it became known that the domain will go to sunrise on March 29, when rights holders can register names associated with their trademarks. This stage will last until May 1, when the domain will enter Early Access Period (EAP) for one week. During EAP it will be possible to register a domain at a higher price. Finally, from May 8 anyone will be able to register a domain name in .APP at the usual prices. There is no information about the price policy so far.
