Well-known British pharmacy chain Boots applied to ICANN to terminate its registration agreement. The company intends to terminate its dot-brand .BOOTS, reports Domain Incite. This case is neither unique, nor deserving attention: there are dozens of companies that registered their dot-brands but didn't understand what to do with them. However, what's interesting in this case is the fact that Boots have already terminated their dot-brand contract.
As it was reported previously, back in spring last year the pharmacy chain applied to ICANN with the same request. Later, however, Boots management changed their minds and withdrew the application, as it turns out, only to request it again. No changes have taken place in .BOOTS during this time, there are still no registered names and the situation has become quite comical.
