Domain Investing reported that a brokerage company Right of the Dot was looking for buyers of the Poker.com domain. The owner of the domain name, who entrusted the company with the deal, expects to get around $20 million for it. The Right of the Dot CEO Monte Cahn has already confirmed this information. He said that Poker.com could be one of the most valuable domains in the world and definitely the most valuable in the gaming industry, especially considering the popularity of poker tournaments, TV and online translation of which has an enormous audience around the world.
At the moment, the company expects to find a buyer privately. If this doesn’t happen, the domain name will be put up for auction. It should be noted that if the future buyer agrees to seller’s terms this will be the biggest deal in the history of domain business. Up until now the most expensive purchase on the domain market (out of the ones known to the public) was domain Sex.com in 2005 for $14 million. Talking about gambling domains, the leaders are domain names Casino.com and Slots.com, each of which was estimated at $5.5 million (in 2003 and 2010 respectively).
