GoDaddy, the largest domain registrar in the world, announced the purchase of two big domain name portfolios. One of them previously belonged to Donuts and has about 200 thousand names. Another 100 thousand names were purchased from one of the most famous domain investors Kevin Ham. His collection of domain names is considered one of the most impressive and valuable in the world: 10 years ago CNN wrote an article about him titled “The man who owns the Internet”.
GoDaddy announced spending $50 million of both portfolios. Therefore, the average price of one name was approximately $167. Thus, the company obviously continues to increase its own portfolio of domain names. Domain Name Wire reminds that GoDaddy previously purchased domain name portfolio of another famous domain investor - Michael Berkens.
