The 60th ICANN meeting has just finished in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting several organizational decisions were made in relation to where the future forums would be held. In particular, it was decided that ICANN’s 65th meeting would take place on 24-27th of June 2019 at Palmeraie Resort hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco. This is where the 55th conference took place in March 2016. Two other meetings of 2019 will be held in Kobe, Japan and Montreal, Canada.
ICANN management considers it very important to organize meetings in African countries because it helps to increase the participation of African representatives in the life of the community. They usually gather the highest number of participants from African countries, who quite often do not have a possibility (primarily for financial reasons) to take part in meetings that are held on other continents.
