Domain .BLOG shows good indicators

Registry Knock Knock Whois There (KKWT) reported on success of the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) .BLOG that it manages. Domain was launched in November last year and since then managed to reach 100 thousand registered names by adding 300 registrations per day on average, which is considered to be a very good indicator. Especially considering the fact that KKWT, unlike many other new gTLD registries, didn't have too many promotional campaigns or giveaways: annual registration fee has always been at least $8.

However, an even greater reason to be proud is another achievement. According to KKWT, 100 thousand names registered in the domain are associated with 66500 unique websites. This is much higher than in any other gTLD (both old and new) where on average about 40% of registered domain names have a website associated with them. However, it's hard to check this data: the registry quotes data of analytical service Pandalytics, which doesn't publish information in open access, only by private subscription.

We remind that Automattic, which owns WordPress platform, is behind KKWT.
