David Duchovny got his name back

The National Arbitration Forum granted the complaint of a famous actor, the star of The X-Files and Californication, Golden Globe winner David Duchovny on registrants of the DavidDuchovny.com domain name. Registration of this name was considered to be cybersquatting and the domain was transferred to the actor. Domain Name Wire reports that it was a Canadian company Alberta Hot Rods that was the domain registrant. It seems that this firm “specializes” in registration of this kind of names. Previously, it already lost in similar cases against Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz, Pamela Anderson, Kevin Spacey and Tom Cruise.

Alberta Hot Rods representatives simply didn't react to the claims of David Duchovny and didn't submit any documents to the National Arbitration Forum. This is why the only surprising thing about this story is that the domain was registered back in 1996. It's hard to tell what made David Duchovny wait for over 20 years before making a claim.
