XYZ announced that it has acquired the new gTLD .STORAGE. Initially, the domain was delegated to Self Storage Company, which is involved in the rental of storage units in the United States. The reasons why Self Storage Company gave up the domain and the deal value were not disclosed.
According to XYZ CEO Daniel Negari, as quoted by The Domains, .Storage will be a premium namespace for businesses and professionals in the data and physical storage verticals. Priority registration for rights owners will begin on November 7, 2017. This will be immediately followed by a two-week public Early Access Period (EAP), which starts on November 28. The global general availability launch of .Storage is set for December 5, 2017. .STORAGE has become the 10th gTLD managed by XYZ. XYZ is also the registry operator of .xyz, .College, .Rent, .Security, .Protection, .Theatre, .Cars, .Car, and .Auto (the last three are co-operated with Uniregistry).
