Website viewed 7 million times per month was stolen

Unknown criminals managed to steal 411Mania.com domain. The website is dedicated to the news of the entertainment industry, martial arts and wrestling; it has over 7 million views per month. The details are unknown; however, it's clear that criminals managed to change the name and contact data of the domain's registrant. They also quickly transferred the domain to another registrar: from Register.com to Internet BS.

Domain Name Wire reports that on April 17th criminals contacted the legal owners of 411Mania.com and demanded a ransom of US$30 thousand in Bitcoin for the domain. Next day they lowered the ransom to US$20 thousand; however, they threatened to disable the website in case the owners didn't pay. In order to confirm the seriousness of their capabilities they attached 411Mania.com's accounting documents, which they got as a result of a hack.

Fortunately, 411Mania.com's legal owners quickly filed a lawsuit and got a temporary restraining order on the domain. At the moment, domain name has been returned to them, the resource is working properly while the trial continues.
