NamePros reported that investor and entrepreneur Jason Calacanis sold domain 20.com for 1,750,000 dollars. It's the second largest deal on the domain market since the beginning of the year; it's just a little bit behind the leader – another “digital” domain 01.com, which was sold in February for 1.82 million.
Jason Calacanis purchased 20.com in 2006 for a considerable amount of 75 thousand dollars. However, the investment paid off – since that time the price of the domain had been growing steadily. For example, in 2011 interested buyers offered Calacanis US$400,000 for the domain. In October 2015 he was offered $2 million. Moreover, according to Calacanis he was offered as much as 3 million. However, he decided to sell the domain only now because at the moment he sees several promising start-ups, which he wants to invest this money in.
