Amazon conquers Sweden

Internet giant Amazon keeps paying very serious attention to Sweden. Earlier on, the company announced that it would open three data centres in this Scandinavian country. Literally several days later it became known that the company purchased a domain name Amazon.se in Swedish ccTLD. The Domains reports that the value of the domain is estimated at 5 million Swedish kronor, an equivalent of 554,500 US dollars.

It should be noted that even though there are local versions of Internet store Amazon in several European countries (for example, in Germany, France and Spain), Sweden is not one of them. However, after the news about the purchase of the domain, we should probably say “there is no Swedish version yet”.
