DomainNameWire reports that Verisign Corporation has published a list of words that were used more often than others to register names in the .COM gTLD during last month. The President Donald Trump has become the leader for January. During the election race last year he was in the top several times. This time Trump’s first place could be explained by the fact that his inauguration took place in January (and also because it has generated a heated debate on the number of people who attended it).
The word “America” is on the second place, it’s a part of Donald Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again”. The word on the third position is probably related to the new President as well – it’s the world “wall”. It seems that it became popular because the new US President is willing to build a wall on the border with Mexico. It’s funny to note that the words “Rent”, “Porn”, “Videos” are on positions from 4 to 6 respectively. Some American observers jokingly state that they are related and form a sort of guide to action.
