Domain .ORG has landed a large deal

Generic top-level domain .ORG usually doesn't attract much attention from domain investors and large purchase deals are considerably rare. This is why the deal made early this week is especially noteworthy. The new owner purchased domain Convenience.org for US$55 thousand.

This is a huge sum of money for .ORG domain zone. For almost two years no domain name was sold for over 50 thousand dollars. Last year’s record was Science.org, which was sold for US$49 thousand. The highest achievement of the recent years was the sale of Move.org domain; it was bought for US$120 thousand in February 2015.

OnlineDomain reports that the seller of Convenience.org was a private investor and it was The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) that bought the domain. The NACS unites networks of convenience stores and shops at gas stations. These stores in the US are called “convenience store”; this is obviously why the buyer was interested in the domain in the first place.
