The most expensive lots at NamesCon auction remained unsold

At the domain business conference NamesCon in Las Vegas NameJet and RightOfTheDot organized a domain name auction. The results have to be acknowledged as pretty modest. There were 111 domains sold at the auction for the total amount of US$1,483,650, reports OnlineDomain. The most expensive purchases were domains single.com (290 thousand dollars) and featured.com (100 thousand). Among new gTLDs the highest bid was paid for luxury.club – 5 thousand dollars.

However, 32 lots, including the most expensive ones remained unsold. A group of domains that included bar.com, bar.net, cafes.com, grill.com, place.com, pub.com and shelter.com or a domain ol.com were also among the unsold ones. During the online pre-bidding $1,010,000 and $800,000 respectively were offered for these domains and the sum of these exceeds the total amount paid at the auction. However, even those sums were lower than the reserve – the minimum sum that sellers would agree to let go of their lots. As a result the most expensive domains were taken off the auction.
