The largest transactions of last year

DNJournal has summed up the results of 2016 and published a list of the largest deals on the domain market. As expected, Chinese companies made the high-profileest purchases. Domain HG.com is topping the list, it was purchased last November for 3 million 770 thousand dollars. Domain Vivo.com is on the second place, 2 million 100 thousand dollars were paid for it. Chinese companies, involved in wine trade and technology respectively, purchased both domains. Canadian mining company Jade Mine Resources is on the third place, which purchased Jade.com for 1 million 250 thousand dollars. In general, the top results are more modest than a year ago. In 2015 two domains (porno.com and we.com) were sold for more than 8 million dollars each.

Domain Furniture.co.uk is number one among ccTLDs; it was acquired for US$650 thousand. There are no names in Russian ccTLDs in the list of the top hundred deals. The most expensive name in the new gTLDs was 1.xyz, for which investors (obviously, Chinese) paid US$181,720.
