ICANN has received a formal notification from the Japanese industrial conglomerate Mitsubishi that it no longer wishes to use .MTPC domain. It is a dot-brand and was delegated back in February 2015 to pharmaceutical company Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation, which is a part of the Mitsubishi conglomerate.
Domain Incite reports that for almost two years from the delegation of .MTPC only two names were registered and were not actively used. Therefore, domain .MTPC has become 19th terminated new gTLD. It should be highlighted that all 19 “terminated” domains were dot-brands. It is worth emphasizing that Mitsubishi hasn’t yet taken any steps for the development of their main dot-brand –.MITSUBISHI, delegated earlier this year.
